X-DMD: Explainable Domain Misuse Detection for Abusing Web-hosting Services and URL Shortener Services

Attackers are targetting web-hosting services and URL shortener services for abusing those domains to carry out website-based attacks such as phishing, malware propagation, or scamming. I envision that an explainable model can help cyber defenders to take effective action against websites and domains by understanding how and why particular services are more targeted than others.

I am the lead on this project which is part of my dissertation research. Dr. Xu is advising me on the project. The project is still ongoing.
